ITINERARY

Day 1:

This eight day trip will commence with you arriving into Glasgow airport, collected by coach and transferred to the Turnberry Hotel where you will be based for the next two nights.

Set in 800 acres of one of the most beautiful corners of Scotland, Turnberry's fascinating provenance and idyllic natural position render any stay a memorable experience.

At its heart is an internationally renowned hotel, a five star experience of superb accommodation, fine dining, relaxing lounges and friendly Scottish hospitality. Here luxury and beauty go hand in hand, providing the perfect backdrop to a range of unrivalled sporting, leisure and business facilities.

Day 2:

The Turnberry Ailsa Open Championship Course will be where golf will be played today. Long regarded as one of the finest courses in the world, the Ailsa came to international prominence with the famous duel between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson over the four days of the 1977 Open. It was then, in brilliant sunny weather, that a capacity crowd was treated to an exhilarating display of golf from two of the best golfers the world has ever known. Polls now regularly acknowledge the Ailsa as one of Britain's top three courses, confirmation that gives it eminence worldwide, with regular rankings within the world's top 20 courses

Day 3:

Prestwick Golf Club will be the golfing venue today. Forever remembered as the birthplace of the Open Championship, Prestwick and has hosted 24 Opens in all, the last one being 1926, after which the crowds were deemed too large.  Expanded to 18 holes in 1883 with seven original greens remaining to this day, Prestwick has not changed much over the years. It's often controversial blind shots and misleadingly initial unkempt appearance bare witness to the members' aspirations that the course remain true to its origins. After golf you will be transferred to the Piersland Hotel in Troon.

Day 4:

Kilmarnock Barassie, an Open Championship qualifying venue will be the golfing venue for today.  This 18 hole layout (27 hole complex) was also home to the 2001 British Amateur Championships and is a true Scottish Links Course

Day 5:

Today you will be all given a well earned rest and you will be free to do as you wish. Golf can be arranged if requested.

Day 6: The Open Championship Course at Royal Troon will be tackled this morning. This course has hosted many Open Championships and will again
host the Open in 2004. After completion of this round it will be into the clubhouse for a well earned lunch before going back out for another round of golf which will this time be played over the Troon Portland Course.

Day 7:

A round of golf at Western Gailes awaits the golfers today.  As fine a true links as one could imagine, Western Gailes presents an abundance of undulating dune ridges, heather and gorse, which will test the most accomplished golfer. And when the wind blows, which is of course not uncommon, the test becomes tougher still with the long stretch between the 6th and 13th becoming somewhat of an endurance test.
