The James Braid Highland Trail will allow each golfer to discover the Hidden Gem Courses, which have been designed by the legendry man himself.

Besides his success as a golfer, Braid was an excellent course designer. He used his farming background to ensure that courses were well laid out and well drained. As a founder member of the PGA and later it's president, he was instrumental in laying the foundation of today's professional game. In recognition of his contribution to golf, the R&A honoured him with membership. Had he played in the modern era, he would be a M.B.E. however Britain was a different place back then”

”Braid was a great pioneer of golf and will be remembered with great respect and admiration.”

Apart from playing 3 of the top James Braid designed courses in the Highlands, this tour will also have your game tested at two of the best Links Courses in Scotland, namely Nairn & Royal Dornoch.

ITINERARY

Day 1:

Your trip will start with you arriving at your chosen airport and being transferred up to the seaside town of Brora. Here you will book into the Links Hotel and settle down for what is left of the day.

Links Hotel

Day 2:

The first golfing test of the week will be over Brora Golf Course. This will be the first of the James Braid    Courses to be played during your stay. Brora Golf

Course is a true Links layout and is overlooked by the Links Hotel. Stay tonight in the Links Hotel.

Day 3:

Golspie Golf Course is the venue today. This is another of the James Braid design’s and is a very unique course in many ways. The first 6 holes are of a

typical links layout, the middle 6 holes are of a parkland design and the final 6 holes are that which is typical to a Heathland course. Stay tonight in the Links Hotel.

Day 4:

The world famous golfing layout of Royal Dornoch will be today’s golfing test. This course is regularly rated in the world’s top 20 and is one of the greatest

tests of Links golf that there is. The course is just over 6,500 yards, but this is no reflection on the degree of difficulty to be found on many of the holes. Raised or sloping greens are characteristic as well as elevated tees so the target is well presented although rarely easy to reach. Stay tonight in Links Hotel.

Day 5:

This morning you will head south to the Seaside town of Nairn. Today will be a golf free day, although tee times can be arranged for those wishing to sample more of the Highlands golfing layouts. Your accommodation for the rest of your trip will be here in Nairn at the wonderful Newton Hotel.

Day 6: Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club is another famous design by James Braid and is a very unique Scottish Links layout. The course is set on a peninsula and
is therefore almost totally encircled by the sea. This will be your golfing experience today and although it is short in length it is big in stature. Stay tonight in Newton Hotel

Day 7:

Nairn Golf Club, home to the 1999 Walker Cup will be the golfing venue today. This traditional Scottish Links Course was created from a wilderness of whins and heather and tests the talents of professional and amateur alike. It was founded in 1887 and is now one of the best courses in Scotland.
