Plan
on lodging in one or two places. Packing and
unpacking is a waste of time.
-
Dining
in the pubs is a great way to meet the people and
save money. They serve great food day or night.
-
Groups
can range from 4-20 travelers including golfers and
non-golfers. (Eight or more and driver/coach is
suggested as opposed to having to drive two
mini-vans.)
-
It
is worth the extra expense to be driven in a coach.
The drivers know all the secrets of the countries.
-
If
you are concerned about walking 18 holes (it's
really pretty easy I assure you) plan on alternating
courses with caddies and ones with carts. That is
usually what I do. Ireland has more carts available
than Scotland.
-
Plan
on taking some time off from golf to sightsee. The countries
are beautiful and the people great.
-
Don't
get caught up in booking only famous courses. There
are many hidden gems that can be mixed in with these that are great values that you will enjoy
just as well. We can take care of this for you very
easily.
-
Single
room supplements at additional cost are available if
you would prefer to be by yourself.
-
Some
courses require handicap verification. Usually 24 maximum for
men and 36 for ladies.
I can take care of this if
needed.
-
You
will need a passport.
-
You
are welcome to book your own flight. I find it fun for everyone to take the
same flight and to arrive
together. There will be a deadline when you must be
in you arrival city. I will suggest the least
expensive and most convenient flight and can book it
for an individual or group if desired.
-
If
part of the group would like to arrive a day or two
early or stay over I can make these arrangements
also.
-
Before
leaving I will let you know what to expect as far as
the weather and tips for what and how to pack.
-
ATM's
are the best way to get currency in the country you
are visiting. I usually do this every couple of
days. Traveler's checks are mostly an inconvenience.
MasterCard and Visa are widely accepted. American
Express a little less.
-
Only
bring enough US dollars to use in the US airports.
They will accept US dollars at some places but have
trouble with the daily change in exchange rates.
-
Many
of these golf courses and lodgings are very popular,
especially during the summer. Because of this prime
tee times and lodging get full up to a year in
advance. To meet your requirements it is suggested
to book you trip at least 6 months in advance.
-
A
25% deposit upon booking. Balance due 45 days prior
to travel. Payment by credit card
( 3% add on ) or personal check.
-
After
booking any substitutions of Courses or
Accommodations will be of equal or greater value.
